Response to "Why I don't assign homework"
After reading dy/dan (Mr. Meyer)'s blog "Why I don't assign homework, I agree with most of what he said. I also feel that work completed at home does nothing but give students extra work. But with my own children and grandchildren, I have found that when the kids have homework, I keep track of what they are doing at school. Even when they have projects to do at home and the parents do a lot of it, it provided a connection between the parent and child. The time they spend working on the homework project is time spent together.
After reading " PowerPoint Reform: a first chapter" by Joyce Valenza Ph.D, I agree. When I ask students to create power points to introduce us to the book they read, the students seem to zone out as it is presented. I would like to see us push the students into more creative products. I loved all the tips and hope to use some of these this year.

Reflection on 21st clc
This has been interesting, but scary at the same time. Do I have the skills? Do I have the technology available? Do I know enough to stay up with (not ahead!) of the students? Will I remember what we did today tomorrow?
