After reading " PowerPoint Reform: a first chapter" by Joyce Valenza Ph.D, I agree. When I ask students to create power points to introduce us to the book they read, the students seem to zone out as it is presented. I would like to see us push the students into more creative products. I loved all the tips and hope to use some of these this year.

  1. We as educators have overused PowerPoint and often misuse it. I try to ask myself--is my technology integration simply me presenting info in a different format, or am I using digital tools to allow students to interact with information in a different way--beyond me delivering content to them. I'm excited to share Google Maps with you guys this afternoon. My head is reeling with all the activities we could do with it in a literacy classroom!

By the way, you figured out the blogging concept and are doing a wonderful job. I'm enjoying reading your posts and resources you're sharing!
